Of all nature’s gifts to the human race,
what is sweeter to a man than his children?
Marcus Tullius Cicero

My daughter recently handed me some worn baby clothes and asked me if I would create something for her. One was the sleeper that our cherished oldest grandchild was wearing when she was handed to her new parents a number of years ago in China. Here she is in her sleeper with my daughter.

I was thrilled with the request and gave much thought to appropriate projects. For the past few weeks, I explored ideas, consulted with friends, and came up with a plan. A simple heart set upon some delicate cloth felt most appropriate. I also gleaned from various sites that Christmas tree ornaments are quite popular ways to preserve baby clothes.
While there are other potential projects I have yet to explore, here is what I have put together to date. Needless to say, I have smiled through every minute of the stitching. 🙂
