Energy
Mind/body training has played a pivotal role in my life for over 25 years. I have practiced and taught the Japanese martial art of Aikido since 1986.
Aikido involves redirecting and dissipating energy from an attacker by aligning with the attacking energy. The aikido practitioner learns to work with energy, to send and receive, to redirect and harmonize. Movements in the art are circular in nature.
It is only natural that my love of this art would manifest in my art quilts, sometimes focusing on the play of energy seen in aikido, other times reflecting in energy flows in everyday life.
